Employee recognition serves as a key characteristic within our workplace culture activities. We believe it is important to recognise and celebrate key employee milestones and successes, bringing people together, and ensuring our workplace is a friendly place. We have been doing this for a long time and are celebrating our 95th anniversary in 2021!

In supporting our value of ‘Service Driven’ we embarked on a programme of customer service development. In 2019, all employees came together to develop a Member Service Charter underpinned by a focus on internal service excellence ensuring our continued commitment to support each other in delivering for our Members.

We successfully transitioned to working remotely as a result of the pandemic, and employees can continue to operate as normal while working remotely as much as possible. Like many other companies, the pandemic has changed the way we work, and we are finalising our Hybrid Working Model that works for our business and our employees.

Social Environment

IPB has a vibrant Sports and Social Club, and its purpose is to provide a fun and social outlet for all employees. It’s a great way to get to know people from across the Company and to try new things. The Sports and Social Club arranges a wide array of events and activities to suit everyone’s interests with an emphasis on getting to know each other in a fun environment. Activities include golf, football, theatre nights, wine tasting, yoga, cookery classes, quizzes and much more.

Wellbeing at IPB

Our aim is to create a healthy work environment where employees feel supported and valued. We are committed to taking a proactive approach to wellbeing and regularly review our approach in line with internal and external developments that can impact employees’ well-being.

With a focus on a holistic approach to wellbeing, we know that looking after your physical health is vital and we also place a strong emphasis on the psychological components of well-being offering information and interactive sessions and programmes covering mental and spiritual wellbeing, financial management, peer support and other topics that support social connections and resilience.

Digital Gym and Fitness Classes

As everything went virtual as a result of covid-19, the fitness experience was also brought to people’s homes and lives as part of our Winter Wellbeing Series.   

Our wellbeing framework provides access to free health screening periodically, flu jabs and a confidential independent employee assistance programme 24/7 that provides information, resources and counselling to address real issues that affect employee’s wellbeing.

A wellness room is available for employees that need a quiet private space for their own individual needs as well as on-site shower and changing facilities, dry cleaning services and a serviced café.
